Myers cocktail is an intro venous or IV infusion which is designed to improve various ailments and conditions which affect the body. This process is commonly used to relieve the pain associated with fibromyalgia, extreme fatigue, allergies, asthma and it helps to enhance a person’s immune system. This process is named after a former physician named John Myers who used to conduct his practice in Baltimore. Myers created this process during the 70’s to help his patients at the time who were suffering various medical issues. Myers used specific ingredients to help improve the overall condition of his patients.

Ingredients used for Myers Cocktail Therapy

When Myers first created his intravenous cocktail he selected specific ingredients to add to this concoction. These ingredients included:

  • 5 milliliters of magnesium chloride hexahydrate
  • 3 milliliters of calcium gluconate
  • 1 milliliter of magnesium chloride hexahyddrate
  • 1 millimeter of pyriodoxine hydrochloride
  • 1 milliliter of dexpanthenol

The other ingredients that are included inside of a Myers Cocktail includes 1 milliliter of B-complex vitamins and 5 milliliters of vitamin C. The B-complex vitamins that are used in a Myers Cocktail includes thiamine, riboflavin and niacinamide. The extra milliliters vitamin C helps to boost a person’s immune system which aids in greater recovery. Myers had selected each ingredient after carefully examining their effects on the human body.

Extra Ingredients for Myers Cocktails

Extra doses for Myers Cocktails could include calcium given in doses of 1-4cc, adrenal cortical extract (ACE) added in doses of 1-2 cc and 1-2cc doses of glutathione which is an anti-oxidant. These extra ingredients can help to boost a person’s immune system and to improve their overall health. Each ingredient must be evaluated by a medical professional to ensure that it is compatible with a particular patient’s system. After specific tests have been performed and they are positive then an ingredient can be used within a particular Myers Cocktail application. This process is currently being used in IV vitamin therapy and as an after treatment for the benefits of lymphatic drainage massage. It can also be used to relieve chelation side effects.
