It is an antioxidant that the body needs to stay healthy and it treats everything from Autism to Alzheimer’s. It is a molecule that prevents aging, dementia, cancer and heart disease. The Liver produces glutathione in the body naturally. It is found in meats, vegetables, and fruits. The glutathione in the body is depleted due to toxins, poor diet, trauma, stress, medication, radiations, aging and infections. The body becomes susceptible to cell disintegration caused by oxidative stress, free radical damage, cancers, and infections. Glutathione is a sulphur containing molecule which is a sticky and smelly molecule and all the bad things in the body stick to it free radicals, toxins like heavy metals stick to it.

Glutathione usually recycles in the body except for when there is a toxic overload. Glutathione supplements can be administered intravenously. Taking glutathione supplements may help with the depleted glutathione levels that happen with age or other reasons. It helps synthesize and repair DNA and protect your body from free radical damage. Intravenous glutathione help body get rid of the toxic metals. It helps the body detoxify and reduce your risk of cancer.

Glutathione Side Effects

Glutathione injections side effects are not reported however, intravenous glutathione may interact with certain drugs used for chemotherapy. Healthy individuals with liver and kidney problems might suffer from digestive problems from the injections. If there are too many antioxidants in a person the effects of a glutathione IV dose can be completely nullified, which means the person who needs this compound may not get any benefit from taking the injection. Glutathione IV can cause unpleasant side effects when matched with selenium. Too much selenium can cause the following side effects:

  • Hair Loss-
  • White spots on nails
  • Loss of feeling in the appendages

Glutathione Intravenous supplementation

According to Dr. David Perlmutter, who pioneered Glutathione iv therapy for the patients with Parkinson’s disease the standard intravenous glutathione dose is 1400 mg mixed with saline solution given over the interval of ten minutes three times a week. Glutathione is administered intravenously(iv) by injection into the vein to prevent ‘tired blood’ in kidney patients undergoing hemodialysis, preventing kidney problems after heart surgery.decreasing clotting in people with atherosclerosis, treating diabetes and preventing toxic effects of chemotherapy.
