Acupuncture has some surprising benefits. While it has been known to heal pain as well as, say, knee stem cell therapy, acupuncture can also increase energy, improve digestion and sleep. When many people receive acupuncture, it often feels as if fatigue’s heaviness is removed and the energy starts to shine through. This can prevent people from needing more than one cup of coffee or needing an incentive to go to the gym. The meridians that regulate digestion are also connected to many other systems so receiving acupuncture assists with digestion in many cases as well. It has also been known to help those who haven’t even realized that they have sleep issues to sleep more restfully.

Vitamin C IV Therapy

Vitamin C IV therapy is used primarily for those who have cancer and are undergoing chemotherapy or other radiation treatments. Vitamin C IV therapy is pro-oxidant and generates hydrogen peroxide into the cellular space. Unlike chemotherapy and radiation, hydrogen peroxide does not affect healthy cells at all. Especially if you’re in the latter stages of cancer, vitamin C IV therapy can help you have some energy and to be able to live a more independent life. However, vitamin C therapy is not used lightly and a PET scan is usually required. Its effects usually maximizes best when used in the early stages of cancer.

IV vitamin C side effects are, fortunately, rare but here are a few below:

  • If the dose is too high, it can actually stress the body and fatigue the patient even further.
  • Shakiness or aches due to decreases in potassium, calcium or chloride. Fortunately, this is usually very easy to fix with adjusting the dosage.
  • Dehydration. This can cause a blood sugar lowering so proper hydration and nourishment are almost always emphasized.

Glutathione IV Therapy

IV glutathione therapy is used primarily for men who are infertile and for preventing the toxic side effects of cancer treatments. It is also used by many who are undergoing dialysis and treating Parkinson’s disease. Diseases like Parkinson’s are linked to a lack of glutathoine and dopamine and as a result, glutathione IV therapy is often used to restore that loss. A lack of glutathione is linked to the death of mitochondrial cells, which occurs when glutathione is below 70%. As with all other IV therapies, the needed dosage depends on each patient, although the average is about 2-3 grams.
